The Ghanaian Empire was a massive, powerful and wealthy trading empire begun in the 4th century. It made it's fortune trading in gold at a time when the Roman empire was collapsing and before Islam had been begun. Some of the people of Ghana trace their history and ancestry back to this illustrious period in West Africa's history, and so we use their language: Akan for the word for warrior.
So not only can you recognize this period of African history, you can do it while wearing a comfortable, soft, partly stretchy and lightweight T-Shirt.
